These Proceedings are the product of the 32nd Annual Conference of the North American Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education held in Columbus, Ohio, October 28-31, 2010. They are a written record of the research presented at the conference. This year’s conference brings together the voices of scholars from various genres of research in mathematics education. Different perspectives offered by this diverse group can help build a list of issues that need further contemplation as we, collectively, continue to conceptualize and operationalize how Student Understanding in Mathematics might be initiated, nurtured and monitored.
