Annual Conference 2004
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
This is an update on the PME-NA 2004 conference as of September 29, 2004
Program
The program for the conference has been posted at: http://www.pmena.org/2004/program.html
The rooms will be assigned to the sessions on October 10, 2004. The conference begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2004 and ends at 11:45 am on Sunday, October 24, 2004.
Hotel
The rooms will be held for us at our hotel until October 1, 2004.
The conference will be held at the Delta Chelsea Hotel in downtown Toronto. Many rooms have been reserved at this four star hotel but we need to ensure that you mention the PME-NA 2004 conference. A link has been posted to assist registering for the accommodations online.
We have arranged for special room rates starting at $149 CAN (about $113 US), with other rates at $174 CAN ($132 US) and $194 CAN ($147 US). These rates are single or double occupancy. It is $20 CAN ($15 US) more for the third person in a room. These rates are held until October 1, 2004. Please make your reservation early. If you are concerned about the variability in the US/CAN exchange rate, you can pay for the entire stay when you book. The reservation code is YUYTGR and it is already encoded into the website for reservations.
The website for reservations at these low rates is http://www.deltachelsea.ca/pome
If you decide to call directly at 1-877-814-7706, please quote YUYTGR and the Psychology of Mathematics Conference.
Registration
The registration form has been posted on the website. You may use VISA, Mastercard, and cheques. You can fax, mail or email the registration form. The early due date is October 1, 2004
For more details, go to http://www.pmena.org/2004/registration.html
The exchange rate between the Canadian and American dollar is making it difficult to predict the total amount for the conference. The rate will be $420 CAN for the conference including proceedings, meals, entertainment, sessions, breaks, and excursion. The cost for graduate students will be $320 CAN. You may notice that you will be charged a little more or less than this amount when you pay due to the exchange rate and the charge from your credit card company.
