Pamela Matthews is currently on the staff of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, providing guidance and expertise on issues of mathematics and science education. She was a community college instructor for 25 years. As an administrator at Mt. Hood Community College, she was the Principal Investigator of the National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education project, "An Application-Based, Technology-Supported, One-Track Mathematics Curriculum." She serves on the Mathematical Association of America's Committee on the Teaching of Undergraduate Mathematics and was a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and American Vocational Association's Joint Task Force on Mathematics and Vocational Education. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Mathematical Sciences Education Board and on the National Advisory Committee of the Los Angeles Collaborative for Teacher Excellence, a National Science Foundation funded project.
